Description
The ‘Port Lairge’ is a rare example of a steam-powered dredger. It was used to dredge mud from Waterford Harbour and was locally known as ‘the mud boat’. It currently lies beached and rusting near the quay in St Kearns, Bannow Bay. It still stands proud and elegant despite its decaying state.
