Description
Checkpoint Marshes – Checkpoint in Co Waterford is where the ‘three sisters’ rivers (the Barrow, the Nore and the Suir) meet on their way to the sea. It has strong currents and a busy shipping lane. However just above the village, hidden to one side, are these wonderful marshes which I have kayaked along with my kids and friends from there. It is a mysterious intertidal zone and well worth exploring!
